things that I come home to at night.
this was on my roommates car and we saw it when nick was driving, so I was in the passenger seat. and I had to get out next to this thing.
what did I do? I ran inside screaming and got my camera.
that is one giant ass fucking spider.
luckily, I just left the lab and had my camera on my lap as I pulled into my house and saw this right next to me.
one small harmless corn snake.
ok, so the spider was harmless too but I firmly believe nothing on this earth should have more than four legs. they all should be killed. centipedes, spiders, cockroaches, everything with more than four legs. and apparently that thing is the fastest thing in north america on eight legs. no thank you.
snakes don’t bother me. I don’t know why. maybe it’s their lack of legs. apparently, negative legs is better than excessive legs.
so I only eat chips and guacamole for dinner.I don’t see a problem with that…I also don’t care to drag out my camera anymore,so I just use my phone.whatev.
The best enchiladas you will ever eat.
These are amazing.
They took forever to make and were such a mess but sooooo worth it.
They’ll probably be the only thing that I eat this entire week. But I’m ok with that. I like to make giant amounts of food and then have leftovers for the rest of the week. I made risotto last Saturday and ate risotto with every meal this week. and I loved it.
Anyway, the recipe was from The Pioneer Woman. I’m obsessed with her website. There’s so much on there that I want to cook, but then I realize I don’t have a ton of money for groceries so I’ll stick to my enchiladas and risotto that keeps me full for a week.
Netflix has every season of King of the Hill on instant play. My summer just disappeared.
This is my kitchen. It is hot as all hell during the day when I try to cook anything, actually it’s even hot when I don’t try to cook anything. It’s cuteness almost makes up for the heat, but not really. This house was built in the 20’s so it doesn’t have central air which is why I need to get out more during the day. I plan on mooching off of public establishments for their air conditioning. I’ll tell you how that goes.
I have this problem when I bake. When the recipe calls for something to cool or rest, I tend to cool or rest. Thus, losing complete intrest in what I am baking. This happend today while I was making Samoas. I forgot about the coconut in the oven so it got a little more than toasted. And because I got so lazy, I’m not even done making them. They’re in my fridge, the only thing left for me to do is to cut them and dip the bottoms in chocolate. So tedious! I’ll post pictures of that tomorrow, you know, when I’m done making them.
I’m at work. There is nothing to do. I took a nap at 8:30 this morning. Today has been uneventful. I’m making more fried chicken later. This was a boring post.
I went out on my parents boat yesterday for my mom’s birthday. I got burnt. I went to the beach on Thursday and wore my sunscreen and was super good about reapplying and I didn’t get burnt. I thought I reapplied enough yesterday, but no. 110 SPF just doesn’t protect me when I’m out on the water. I have weird shapes burnt on my arms. It’s uncomfortable.
These pictures were really an after thought since the sun was so intense that I got a really bad headache and didn’t feel good for most of the day.
oh the reason there’s so much purple on the cake pops is because it’s my mom’s favorite color…In case you couldn’t guess that.
I made these on Friday for my mom’s birthday. I first saw them on www.bakerella.com and I wanted to make them but I didn’t want them sitting around my house, so my mom’s birthday was a perfect excuse for making them. They we a little frustrating when it came to dipping them in the chocolate but for the most part they were pretty easy. But I would recommend freezing them when you first put the sticks in and before dipping in the chocolate. The first few that I tried dipping fell apart so that’s when I decided to start freezing them. Also, make sure the chocolate is melted enough. I used white candy melts which bakeralla used but I couldn’t get it thin enough, so next time I’ll just use white chocolate dipping chocolate.
Anyway, my mom loved them and they were super delicious.
So I made fried chicken today. I love fried chicken. Eating healthy doesn’t work with me. I love food. I’m a fattty. whatever. I got the recipie from thepoineerwoman.com. I’ve been obsessivly going through her website finding new things to bake and quickly bookmarking everything. Before I updated the software on my computer I had a ton of recipies bookmarked, and they all disappeared when I got CS4.
So I’m starting over. Not only with the bookmarking, but with actually blogging. I’ve had to maintain blogs for classes but that got tideous. So I’m going to document what I do this summer. Hopefully I keep up with it.
